HUNTER HYDROGEN SYMPOSIUM RESCHEDULED TO 2023

With many in our communities heavily impacted by recent events and health experts predicting a peak in COVID cases during August, NewH2 has made the difficult decision to reschedule the Hunter Hydrogen Symposium currently planned for the 2nd and 3rd of August 2022.

The inaugural Hunter Hydrogen Symposium will now be held on Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd February 2023.

The overall event format will remain the same with an Industry Dinner on the Tuesday evening followed by a full day Symposium on the Wednesday featuring five sessions including a split stream:

SESSION 1: The Opportunity for Hydrogen in the Hunter
Hydrogen industry outlook and mega trends that are driving a hydrogen future; Hydrogen policy updates; and National and State updates – strategy and initiatives.

SESSION 2: Enabling Investment in Hydrogen in the Hunter
The challenges and opportunities in financing hydrogen projects; Funding opportunities and support to drive the industry forward; and Building trust and community engagement.

SESSION 3: Hunter Hydrogen Projects Showcase
Explore key hydrogen projects in the region and a discussion and perspectives from Hunter youth leadership.

Two streams will then be available for delegates to select from:

SESSION 4: STREAM 1 – Creating Competitive Advantage through Innovation
Enabling the ecosystem for innovation in the Hunter. Hear from leading hydrogen solutions providers on pathways to scale.

SESSION 4: STREAM 2 – Research and Partnerships
Learn about leading hydrogen research underway in the Hunter; Understanding industry and research linkage activities; and Accelerating commercialisation and scale-up of hydrogen related innovation.

Delegates will then reconvene for:

SESSION 5: Skills and Workforce Development
Work underway developing skills for the hydrogen jobs of the future; Demonstration and testing, and skills development frameworks are available for the region; Education pathways in hydrogen technologies and renewable energy; and Knowledge sharing on standards and regulations.

With the shift in dates, there is some potential to increase opportunities for delegates to gain additional exposure to the various hydrogen projects across the Hunter region through an expanded program including workshops and site visits.

NewH2 expects a very similar speaker line up and are in the process of confirming this at the moment. Further updates on speakers and information regarding when tickets will again be available for purchase will be provided soon. You can sign up to our newsletter or follow us on LinkedIn to stay up-to-date.

NewH2 sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused, however we genuinely believe this is the most appropriate action to take given the current environment.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to kicking off the national hydrogen conference agenda for 2023 in Newcastle with you in February next year.
