Overview:

The Hydrogen Energy Supply Chain (HESC) aims to produce carbon neutral hydrogen through extraction from a mixture of Latrobe Valley coal and biomass, combined with carbon capture & storage (CCS).

In a world's first, the pilot has been completed, successfully building and operating a liquid hydrogen supply chain from hydrogen production in the Latrobe Valley (Victoria, Australia), liquifying in an Australian first facility at the Port of Hastings, shipping to Japan in a world's first LH2 carrier and unloading at the Port of Kobe.

The next phase of the project is to analyse the data from the pilot and to determine a commercial pathway for a full scale operation.
